Help: Customizing the Protocol

Table of Contents

1. Introduction

The Velobox offers a comprehensive report generator for creating bike fitting protocols that can be printed and sent. The standard protocol includes the most commonly needed values, such as application area, body posture, sit bone width, and bike geometry.

If these values are not sufficient, the protocol can be expanded with the customizable protocol generator to include additional parameters.

2. My Categories

2.1 Adding a New Category

1. Enter the desired category name in the input field.

2. Click the [+] button to add the category.

3. The new category will appear immediately in the list.

2.2 Editing a Category

To edit an existing category, either click the edit icon next to the name or click directly on the name.

Note: Changing the category name may affect already stored data (see section 5).

2.3 Deleting a Category

To remove a category, click the delete button (🗑️).

Warning: There is no additional confirmation before deletion.

2.4 Backup and Restore

In the category view, there are icons for backup and restore. These options allow existing categories to be saved and restored later.

3. My Fields

3.1 Adding a New Field

1. Select an existing category.

2. Enter the desired field name in the new input field.

3. Click [+] to add the field to the category.

3.2 Editing a Field

Fields can be edited directly by clicking and changing the text.

3.3 Deleting a Field

To delete a field, click the delete button (🗑️) next to the entry.

3.4 Prefixes for Fields

Fields can be assigned special **prefixes** to control the display in the PDF export:

Recommendation: Use a category with only one field for images and another category below it for related fields.

4. Sorting Categories and Fields

New: The order of categories and fields can be changed using drag & drop.

This applies to both categories and fields within a category.

The order of the fields also determines their display in the final protocol.

5. Important Notes on Renaming

When renaming a category or field, a new internal ID is generated.

This may cause already recorded data in protocols to no longer be correctly assigned.

The ID consists of the category name and the field name. If either is changed, the system will not recognize the old values.

Recommendation: Create a backup before making name changes!
